India has 25% of Thorium's world reserves.

The Kakrapar Atomic Power Station is a power station which lies near Surat in Gujarat.India’s Kakrapur -1 reactor is world’s first reactor that uses thorium instead of uranium for power flattening across the reactor.

 It is expected that by  2050, thorium would meet 30% of India’s electricity demand.
